Fishbowl Strategy

Fishbowl Strategy is a method of
collecting business cards, Email
Addresses and Fax numbers. This is
accomplished by actually placing a
fishbowl on your counter. You may
request that your customers
subscribe to receive your daily,
weekly or monthly specials, via
Email or Fax. You can let
your customers know that you will
pick a certain number of winners
periodically. You can have a pad of
paper to solicit Email Addresses and
Fax numbers for those customers that
don't have business cards. You can
call, Email or Fax the winners,
however, it is more personal when
you call.
Depending on your type of
restaurant, you can offer free
meals, discounts, free drinks or
reduced prices. If you have a sports
bar with pool tables, you can offer
free pool games. What you offer is
up to you. A good strategy is to
bring your customers back on slow
days, like every Monday, Tuesday and
Wednesday. Your objective is
to bring your customers back and
keep them happy. When customers are
winners, you are a winner!
